Celebrate the Birth of Your Newborn with Aqeeqah
The birth of a child is a joyous occasion, and what better way to share that joy than by performing Aqeeqah for those in need in the blessed cities of Makkah and Madinah.
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
“Two sheep, which resemble one another, are to be sacrificed for a boy, and one sheep for a girl.”
(Sunan Abu Dawood)
Aqeeqah is a beautiful tradition that expresses gratitude to Allah and follows the Sunnah of the Prophet (ﷺ). It serves to protect the child from harm and the influence of Shaytaan, by the will of Allah.
At Niyyah Uddhiyah Services, we perform Aqeeqah throughout the year. Ideally, the Aqeeqah should be carried out on the 7th day after the child’s birth, though it can also be performed on the 14th, 21st, or in any 7-day interval. However, it should not be intentionally delayed.
Sadaqah for Aqeeqah
As part of the Aqeeqah ritual, £10 is given in Sadaqah, corresponding to the market price of silver, covering the equivalent weight of the child’s hair in silver.
